Fulmars for effort

Gaz Marshall on the final pitch of our new route: Fulmars For Effort (HVS, 5a, **)

We were on the west end of Mingulay and had intended to do a route called Mayday. But when we abseiled down the cliff we couldn't find anything that matched a description in the guide book! Intending to find the easiest way back up we actually discovered a fantastic corner crack leading all the way to the top. Exhilarating climbing in a stunning location.

I'm off to the University's outdoor centre on Loch Tay next week. Hopefully there will be enough wind for some windsurfing action. Before that though my mountain bike and I have an appointment with Innerleithen! Have a good weekend.
